Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Maicon de Senna came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the FC ALEGRETE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maicon de Senna couldn't finish the play. Edvaldo Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Carlos Mesquita having to interfere. After 27 minutes, Maicon de Senna mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC ALEGRETE and the Soledale SEC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 27 played minutes FC ALEGRETE got a freekick which was hit by Maicon de Senna. Marcelinho Leme struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Antônio Carlos Mesquita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Soledale SEC. Denílson Lopez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Antônio Carlos Mesquita having to make a save. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC ALEGRETE's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Mesquita, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Soledale SEC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Antônio Carlos Alvarenga hit a great ball. Vitinho Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Denílson Lopez to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Denílson Lopez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Antônio Carlos Mesquita. FC ALEGRETE's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Denílson Lopez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Denílson Lopez struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Soledale SEC's Marcelinho Leme was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Antônio Carlos Mesquita in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Edvaldo Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Antônio Carlos Mesquita made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelinho Leme in the 64th minute. After having played for 88 minutes, Denílson Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Soledale SEC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Denílson Lopez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Denílson Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Denílson Lopez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Antônio Carlos Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute, one of FC ALEGRETE:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC ALEGRETE. When the match had been going on for 96 minutes, Soledale SEC's Marcelinho Leme got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Antônio Carlos Mesquita. Soledale SEC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
