In the 18th match minute, Ihum SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horácio Almeida to maneuver through the defense. If Rafa de Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Marlenopolis booed when Ihum SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilson Tavares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gonçalo Paes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Fábio Donatello in the 27th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the game, Marlenopolis's Paulo Nóbrega nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gonçalo Paes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 31st match minute, Marlenopolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruy Magalhães to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th match minute, Ihum SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomé Quadros to maneuver through the defense. Rafa de Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Paes having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafa de Lima in the 40th minute of play forced Ihum SS's goalkeeper Gonçalo Paes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rafa de Lima took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gonçalo Paes. Gonçalo Paes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Gonçalo Paes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Fábio Donatello in the 46th minute of play. Luís Fábio Donatello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Gonçalo Paes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The wind increased when Luís Fábio Donatello made the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Marlenopolis's Luís Fábio Donatello slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gonçalo Paes. That made the score 0-3 after 62 minutes of play. Marlenopolis's Luís Fábio Donatello got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 72 minutes into the game, Rafa de Lima recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gonçalo Paes. Rafa de Lima showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Wilson Tavares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Ihum SS's zone, Luís Fábio Donatello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gonçalo Paes came out of the goal and Luís Fábio Donatello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 81st minute, Luís Fábio Donatello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gonçalo Paes was a little too slow when Rafa de Lima got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 85th minute. The score was now 0-5. In the 88th minute of the match, Luís Fábio Donatello tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gonçalo Paes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Gonçalo Paes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Fábio Donatello, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute.
