Edinho Lira took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Narciso Lucas. Narciso Lucas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Paulista FC's zone, Jaime Pinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Narciso Lucas came out of the goal and Jaime Pinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 22 minutes of play, Campeche FC's Edinho Lira made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Narciso Lucas was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 25th minute Paulo Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Narciso Lucas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Paulista FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Igor Severo hit a great ball. Narciso Lucas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Almir Prado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 31 played minutes Campeche FC got a freekick which was hit by Iuri Alvarenga. When Paulo Paiva came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Campeche FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Paiva couldn't finish the play. 41 minutes into the match, Campeche FC's Paulo Paiva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Narciso Lucas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Paulo Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulão Cruz made a kick off. Iuri Alvarenga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Narciso Lucas having to make a save. Jaime Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Enrique Catarinense scored 1-3 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Erasmo Rodrigues, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Paulo Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulo Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narciso Lucas having to interfere. If Jaime Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaime Pinho might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Narciso Lucas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 94th minute, Fernando da Costa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Paulista FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3.
