Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Valdir Maranhense started the match with the kick off. Sidnei Santos made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Mateus Mota sent off a good shot on target. Valdir Maranhense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidnei Santos having to interfere. Sidnei Santos was a little too slow when Valdir Maranhense got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 10th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 19th minute, Gilmar Alves made a precise shot to the right of Paulão Cordeiro. Caraquinha FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 23 minutes into the game, Valdir Maranhense recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sidnei Santos. Valdir Maranhense showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. If Gilmar Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulão Cordeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilmar Alves in the 34th minute of play. The supporters of JL Sport Clube booed when Caraquinha FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adilson Dracena didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute Gilmar Alves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulão Cordeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute of the match Kléberson Guerra shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulão Cordeiro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 39 minutes into the game, Adilson Dracena was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Caraquinha FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave JL Sport Clube the free kick. In the 42ndth minute of the game Gilmar Alves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Caraquinha FC's Paulão Cordeiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Valdir Maranhense struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Sidnei Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caraquinha FC. JL Sport Clube's Sidnei Santos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save JL Sport Clube from getting a goal against them. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After 51 played minutes Caraquinha FC got a freekick which was hit by Valério Ribeiro. Paulão Cordeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilmar Alves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulão Cordeiro came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by JL Sport Clube's Bruninho Neiva. But to his dismay, Bruninho Neiva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Paulão Cordeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilmar Alves in the 60th minute of play. Sidnei Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdir Maranhense, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Mateus Mota struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Sidnei Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caraquinha FC. JL Sport Clube's Bruninho Neiva got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 72nd minute, Valdir Maranhense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 75 minutes, Percy Linhares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the JL Sport Clube and the Caraquinha FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to JL Sport Clube getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Percy Linhares hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kauan Guerra in the 77th minute of play forced JL Sport Clube's goalkeeper Sidnei Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilmar Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Paulão Cordeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mateus Mota in the 87th minute of play forced JL Sport Clube's goalkeeper Sidnei Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulão Cordeiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bruninho Neiva in the 90th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Caraquinha FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while JL Sport Clube had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
