After 13 minutes, João Paulo Paulista mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Flamengo and the JL Sport Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. Flamengo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Caio Cosme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilmar Alves in the 28th minute of play. Bruninho Neiva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Caio Cosme read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. In the 53rd of the match, Gilmar Alves tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Caio Cosme got in the way and made a wonderful save. With an all-out effort, JL Sport Clube's Caio Cosme threw himself towards the right post 57 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gilmar Alves, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Caio Cosme didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bruninho Neiva went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 67 minutes into the match, JL Sport Clube's Gilmar Alves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Caio Cosme narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 69th minute Gilmar Alves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caio Cosme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gilmar Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gugu Saraiva hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Caio Cosme was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Kléberson Guerra. Caio Cosme made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Bruninho Neiva sent off a good shot on target. Gilmar Alves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 89 minutes into the match, Flamengo's goal looked a bit too open when Gilmar Alves came free, but Caio Cosme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 91 minutes into the game, Bruninho Neiva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Caio Cosme was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. JL Sport Clube's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
