The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gerson Lopes was the one to do the kick off. Telmo Seco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerson Lopes, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Pardiuva's Eriberto Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrianinho Britto in the 74th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerson Lopes in the 85th minute of play forced SS Excellsior FC's goalkeeper Telmo Seco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jacinto Azevedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Telmo Seco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jacinto Azevedo ran back to his position shaking his head. Leopoldo Quirino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Telmo Seco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The SS Excellsior FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
