Jerônimo Machado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jerônimo Machado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Teles, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 16th match minute, TFPN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dieguinho Pereira to maneuver through the defense. Jerônimo Machado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betão Figueiredo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luizinho Albuquerque hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. If Luizinho Albuquerque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Espera's zone, Dieguinho Pereira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jerônimo Machado came out of the goal and Dieguinho Pereira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 42nd minute, Betão Figueiredo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jerônimo Machado was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luizinho Albuquerque stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Betão Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Falcão Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Betão Figueiredo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Jerônimo Machado made a huge save. Dieguinho Pereira came free with the goalkeeper in the 60th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jerônimo Machado could save by the left post. Luizinho Albuquerque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Breno Ceresso having to interfere. Jerônimo Machado made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Falcão Rocha sent off a good shot on target. After 65 played minutes Espera got a freekick which was hit by Ennio Reali. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Dieguinho Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot. TFPN's supporters rose to their feet, but Dieguinho Pereira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jerônimo Machado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Betão Figueiredo in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jerônimo Machado saved Espera from getting behind. Edgard Teles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 84 minutes into the match, Espera's goalkeeper Jerônimo Machado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristiano Lucas. Ennio Reali received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Breno Ceresso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 89 minutes of play, TFPN's Falcão Rocha made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jerônimo Machado was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jerônimo Machado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Betão Figueiredo in the 95th minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. TFPN walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
