Spectators: 6663 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 0) 4 minutes into the game, Claretiana's Carlos Eduardo Bezerra nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jardel Rosa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. With a little luck, Claretiana's João Francisco Galvão got control of the ball when Hélder Braga tried to sneak it across the goal line. Didi Aparecido's late challenge caught a Claretiana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Didi Aparecido helped the player get up and apologised. João Francisco Galvão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edu Madureira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 24 played minutes Vere got a freekick which was hit by Luís Eduardo Nunes. After a rather tough play, Claretiana's Cássio Rezende got a free kick in the 26th minute. The supporters of Vere booed when Claretiana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateus Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jardel Rosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laerte Antunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Vere defense, Laerte Antunes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jardel Rosa. The Vere fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jardel Rosa should have stopped the shot. In the 38th minute Wilson Sergipano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jardel Rosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Laerte Antunes in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jardel Rosa saved Vere from getting behind. In the 44thth minute of the game Laerte Antunes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vere's Jardel Rosa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Vere players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Claretiana were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Eduardo Bezerra made a kick off. Carlos Eduardo Bezerra who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Jardel Rosa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Vere's Hélder Braga got a free kick in the 54th minute. After 57 minutes, Dorian Moraes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vere and the Claretiana players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 58th minute, when Claretiana's Elder Fontes after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Jardel Rosa in Vere's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. After 65 minutes, Carlos Eduardo Bezerra made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Vere's Jardel Rosa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 70th minute, Carlos Eduardo Bezerra ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jardel Rosa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. When the match clock showed 74 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Carlos Eduardo Bezerra sped through Vere's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jardel Rosa. Vere's Jardel Rosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Vere from getting a goal against them. Claretiana's attentive Luís Massa managed to snatch the ball when Dorian Moraes made a throw-in in the 89th minute of the game. 96 minutes into the match, Vere's goalkeeper Jardel Rosa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlos Eduardo Bezerra. Claretiana's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
