Matheus Vale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Hernani Massa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A well placed Carlos Augusto Montenegro short distance shot in the 26th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. In the 29th minute, Willian Correia made a precise shot to the right of Raúl Carioca. Marala SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. San Martim's Hernani Massa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Augusto Montenegro in the 39th minute of play. Willian Correia struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Raúl Carioca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San Martim.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos Augusto Montenegro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dênis Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Augusto Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Marala SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Augusto Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hernani Massa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matheus Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Willian Correia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Raúl Carioca made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dênis Vale in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raúl Carioca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 95 minutes into the match, Marala SC's goalkeeper Raúl Carioca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Willian Correia. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. San Martim walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
