Spectators: 7266 (Terracing: 5451, Seating: 1671, VIP seats: 144) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Osmar Lopes started the match with the kick off. Joseph Ulyanov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Hoffmann in the 8th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Renato Negri got free with Joseph Ulyanov in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Balco's Friedrich Nietzsche played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osmar Lopes in the 19th minute of play. Marco Travassos might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Friedrich Nietzsche. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marco Travassos ran back to his position shaking his head. After 25 played minutes Compasso got a freekick which was hit by Didi Breckenfeld. A hard shot by Karl Marx from long distance, 26 minutes into the match, got Joseph Ulyanov's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Marco Travassos hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. The supporters of Balco booed when Compasso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osmar Lopes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th minute, Chico Schmidt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gustavo Hoffmann in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joseph Ulyanov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Osmar Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 46 minutes into the match, Balco's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Travassos came free, but Friedrich Nietzsche reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gustavo Hoffmann to make the kick off. Gustavo Hoffmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 59 minutes, Duda Palmeira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Compasso and the Balco players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Compasso getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Duda Palmeira hit a great ball. Joseph Ulyanov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renato Negri in the 60th minute of the match. If Osmar Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Gustavo Hoffmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Compasso's Pedro Paulo Veloso got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Karl Marx struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Joseph Ulyanov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Balco. 75 minutes into the game, Gustavo Hoffmann cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Joseph Ulyanov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Marco Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osmar Lopes in the 81st minute of play forced Balco's goalkeeper Friedrich Nietzsche to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Osmar Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute, Renato Negri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Renato Negri scored 2-0 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joseph Ulyanov, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marco Travassos succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 97th playminute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Balco fans cheered their team off the field, for while Compasso had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
