The referee ignored SouPobre Futebol Clube's protests and gave Davi da Rocha a yellow card for diving instead. In the 12th minute, Davi da Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th match minute, San Martim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anselmo de Sena to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute Claudinei Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hernani Massa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emílio Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dênis Vale, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The supporters of San Martim booed when SouPobre Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hernani Massa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Willian Correia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dênis Vale made a kick off. Emílio Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dênis Vale in the 53rd minute of the match. After 59 minutes of play SouPobre Futebol Clube's Davi da Rocha was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Davi da Rocha hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Emílio Monteiro made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Willian Correia sent off a good shot on target. If Acácio Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Acácio Vieira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernani Massa having to interfere. SouPobre Futebol Clube were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of San Martim for a fine match.
