The coaching staff of Aliança EC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Hílton Chaves had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 12 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Aliança EC! Aliança EC:s Osvaldo Meira showed great skill when he stopped Eliseu Urbano:s penalty. In the 16th minute Renatinho Gaspar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Meira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Filipe Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Cesinha Munhoz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 21 minutes, Aílton Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aliança EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aílton Nascimento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 57th match minute, EC Framengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eurico Prado to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Aliança EC's Rubens Lira got a free kick in the 59th minute. Renatinho Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 76 minutes, Aílton Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aliança EC's Filipe Pirani suffered a sore thigh after 95 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Eurico Prado's late challenge caught a Aliança EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eurico Prado helped the player get up and apologised. Aliança EC made a substitution. Moisés Trancoso replaced Filipe Pirani. Eurico Prado hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match.
