The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hílton Chaves during the 4th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aílton Nascimento in the 10th minute of play forced Omega's goalkeeper Zé Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aílton Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Moreira having to interfere. Aliança EC's Matheus Tavares got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Omega defense, Renan Damião kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zé Moreira. The Omega fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zé Moreira should have stopped the shot. Aílton Nascimento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 26th minute, Filipe Pirani made a precise shot to the right of Zé Moreira. Omega's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. 30 minutes into the match, Omega's goal looked a bit too open when Aílton Nascimento came free, but Zé Moreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zé Moreira made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Matheus Tavares sent off a good shot on target. Filipe Pirani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
