If Rômulo Meirelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 7th minute, Marcus Alves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 10 minutes into the match, Jota P Assis's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Alves came free, but Betão Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jota P Assis's Thiago Vides got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 15th minute Rômulo Meirelles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horácio Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Maracacume EC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Marcus Alves hit a great ball. Horácio Mendes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rômulo Meirelles's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Betão Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Rosado, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Jota P Assis's goal looked a bit too open when Basílio Andrade came free, but Betão Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Basílio Andrade fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maracacume EC's protests and gave Basílio Andrade a yellow card for diving instead. Basílio Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After having played for 28 minutes, Rômulo Meirelles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jota P Assis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rômulo Meirelles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Romeu Toscano's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Betão Mendonça firmly grabbed it by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rômulo Meirelles in the 35th minute of play forced Maracacume EC's goalkeeper Horácio Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Jota P Assis's Rômulo Meirelles in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rômulo Meirelles to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, one of Maracacume EC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Jota P Assis a penalty, 52 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Matheus Veiga, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Maracacume EC's Horácio Mendes. 1-2. Rômulo Meirelles's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Horácio Mendes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. 59 minutes into the game, Marcus Alves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Betão Mendonça was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rômulo Meirelles in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Horácio Mendes saved Maracacume EC from getting behind. If Rômulo Meirelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rômulo Meirelles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Rômulo Meirelles came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Jota P Assis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rômulo Meirelles couldn't finish the play. After having played for 78 minutes, Basílio Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maracacume EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Basílio Andrade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Betão Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrigo Rosado in the 80th minute of the match. In the 80th minute, Thiago Vides hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute of the match Jarbas Velasco sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Betão Mendonça skillfully saved the ball. In the 82nd minute, Rômulo Meirelles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Horácio Mendes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thiago Vides in the 85th minute of play. Thiago Vides hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Maracacume EC's goalkeeper Horácio Mendes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo Rosado in the 92nd minute of play forced Jota P Assis's goalkeeper Betão Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Maracacume EC's Romeu Toscano in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jota P Assis's goalie prevented a goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
