Papi Colorado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Robinho Penha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th minute Papi Colorado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robinho Penha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nova Granada Soccer's Edson Corrêa got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Papi Colorado to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Burro da Central's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edson Corrêa was slow to take the kick. During this time Nova Granada Soccer's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Edson Corrêa almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Burro da Central's Robinho Penha did a great save.
