In the 5thth minute of the game Richard Rezende who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itaubal's Ramiro da Costa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 8th match minute, Itaubal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimir Munhoz to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute, Vladimir Munhoz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 13 minutes into the match, Itaubal's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Rezende came free, but Ramiro da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mazinho Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After having played for 19 minutes, Richard Rezende managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Iaciara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Richard Rezende was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ramiro da Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Rezende, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ramiro da Costa made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Maurício Cardozo sent off a good shot on target. 24 minutes into the match, Itaubal's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Rezende came free, but Ramiro da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Vladimir Munhoz was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 25 minutes had been played. A collision led to Itaubal getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Vladimir Munhoz hit a great ball. After 27 played minutes Itaubal got a freekick which was hit by Ramón Alagoano. Maurício Cardozo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Ramiro da Costa made a huge save. Richard Rezende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Ramiro da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ramiro da Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Richard Rezende's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. In the 36th minute Richard Rezende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramiro da Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Maurício Cardozo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Itaubal's Marco Breckenfeld got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sílvio Mendes kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After having played for 51 minutes, Maurício Cardozo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Iaciara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maurício Cardozo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Rezende in the 79th minute of play forced Itaubal's goalkeeper Ramiro da Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Marco Breckenfeld came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Itaubal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Breckenfeld couldn't finish the play. 94 minutes into the match, Itaubal's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Rezende came free, but Ramiro da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
