An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmo de Lima in the 46th minute of play forced Velho's goalkeeper Luiz Baiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 48 minutes into the match, SHIKADAI FC's Arí Antunes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luiz Baiano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Rubinho Moreira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. José Carlos Martins blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luiz Baiano having to make a save. The crowd rose to their feet as José Carlos Martins kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luiz Baiano. That made the score 0-3 in the 65 minute of play. José Carlos Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Baiano having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 72 minutes, Luiz Baiano successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The corner led to SHIKADAI FC's Rubinho Moreira getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. If José Carlos Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th minute, Chicão Cosme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 82 minutes into the match, SHIKADAI FC's goal looked a bit too open when Conrado Velloso came free, but Alfredão Perez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 83 minutes into the game, Luís Fábio Rosado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SHIKADAI FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Velho the free kick. A collision led to SHIKADAI FC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play.
