Juiz de Fora Team's Rodriguinho Cardozo got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Juiz de Fora Team getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Edvaldo Baptista hit a great ball. When Conrado Moreno fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Juiz de Fora Team's protests and gave Conrado Moreno a yellow card for diving instead. Conrado Moreno kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 30th play minute Ernani Berger came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Cauã Dantas. 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ernani Berger got free with Cauã Dantas in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Perivaldo de Queiroz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conrado Moreno, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Rodriguinho Cardozo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
