Joélson de Souza helped the player get up and apologised. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Tiago Aparecido took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Aílton Sergipano to make any attempt to save it. Osvaldinho Linhares might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vânderson de Alcântara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Osvaldinho Linhares ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 30th minute, Flavinho Ferreira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fluminense FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Tiago Aparecido received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Aílton Sergipano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Putiri's Moisés Mello got a free kick in the 34th minute. Tiago Aparecido fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aílton Sergipano having to interfere. A collision led to Putiri getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Joélson de Souza hit a great ball. Osvaldinho Linhares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Putiri's Aílton Sergipano got control of the ball when Flavinho Ferreira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After 54 played minutes Fluminense FC got a freekick which was hit by Oséias Paraense. Vânderson de Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osvaldinho Linhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Putiri's goal looked a bit too open when Tiago Aparecido came free, but Aílton Sergipano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Fluminense FC's Cido de Sousa got a free kick in the 60th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Fluminense FC's zone, Carlos Fernando Rosado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vânderson de Alcântara came out of the goal and Carlos Fernando Rosado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Putiri booed when Fluminense FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldinho Hoffmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 65th minute by Valdo Prestes got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 67th minute, Flavinho Ferreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aílton Sergipano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiago Aparecido in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Moisés Mello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fluminense FC's Vânderson de Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldinho Linhares in the 73rd minute of play. Vânderson de Alcântara was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Valdo Prestes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Valdo Prestes really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. Vânderson de Alcântara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldinho Linhares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Valdo Prestes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Osvaldinho Linhares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
