In the 5th minute Tomé Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Peres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Dida Campidelis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Peres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomé Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dorian Mattos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dida Campidelis, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Baixinho's zone, Hugo Proença stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dorian Mattos came out of the goal and Hugo Proença tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hugo Proença got free with Dorian Mattos in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hugo Proença recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Peres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomé Soares in the 39th minute of play. Carlos Peres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Vidal in the 43rd minute of the match. Arthur Paraense hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Dida Campidelis made the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Baixinho got a freekick which was hit by Luizinho Cardoso. In the 53rd minute of the match Agnaldo Donato sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dorian Mattos skillfully saved the ball. Dorian Mattos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dida Campidelis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 72 minutes, Tomé Soares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Baixinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomé Soares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 74 minutes, Arthur Paraense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Baixinho and the Poacos players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Baixinho getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Arthur Paraense hit a great ball. In the 76th minute, Hugo Proença ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dorian Mattos was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Cristian Hoffmann hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Carlos Peres was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Oswaldo Araújo. The Baixinho supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Baixinho would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
