Cipriano Alcântara guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Cipriano Alcântara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiago Aparecido in the 20th minute of play. Vânderson de Alcântara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raí Damião in the 21st minute of the match. Raí Damião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raí Damião in the 26th minute of play forced Fluminense FC's goalkeeper Vânderson de Alcântara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Flavinho Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raí Damião received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Vânderson de Alcântara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oscar Toledo hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. If Murilo Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tiago Aparecido to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Murilo Paraibano took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Vânderson de Alcântara to make any attempt to save it. The crowd rose to their feet as Murilo Paraibano kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vânderson de Alcântara. That made the score 0-3 in the 58 minute of play. Flavinho Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cipriano Alcântara having to interfere. Tiago Aparecido's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cipriano Alcântara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Enéas Magalhães charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Enéas Magalhães the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Flavinho Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cipriano Alcântara having to interfere. Ciro de Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Tiago Aparecido sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th play minute Raí Damião came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Vânderson de Alcântara. 0-4. Cauã Quirino's late challenge caught a Fluminense FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cauã Quirino helped the player get up and apologised. After 84 minutes of play Bar Sem Lona EC's Enéas Magalhães was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. When Fluminense FC's Tiago Aparecido in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bar Sem Lona EC's goalie prevented a goal. Tiago Aparecido might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cipriano Alcântara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tiago Aparecido ran back to his position shaking his head. The Fluminense FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Bar Sem Lona EC's performance. The match ended with a win for Bar Sem Lona EC.
