Ezequiel Rosa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Conrado de Carvalho took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luiz Gustavo Faria. After a defensive mix-up in Barreto F.C.'s zone, Ezequiel Rosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michel Borges came out of the goal and Ezequiel Rosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Manuel Gonçalves hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Romeu Vargas kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Diego Barbosa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Michel Borges. Barreto F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Ezequiel Rosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Narciso Corrêa fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barreto F.C.'s protests and gave Narciso Corrêa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 39th minute, Narciso Corrêa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ezequiel Rosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Breno Pereira was the one to do the kick off. In the 59th minute, Ezequiel Rosa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 61st minute Olavo Ferreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michel Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Olavo Ferreira in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Michel Borges prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Michel Borges took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ezequiel Rosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Denílson Amaral charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Denílson Amaral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Denílson Amaral hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Luiz Gustavo Faria didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Breno Pereira went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The EC Bahia fans' excitement grew in the 80th match minute when EC Bahia's Ezequiel Rosa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Olavo Ferreira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Michel Borges having to make a save. Olavo Ferreira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Michel Borges took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ezequiel Rosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Barreto F.C. succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though EC Bahia had controlled the match.
