Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) E.C. SERRASUL's Acácio Castro started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Pedro II FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Acácio Castro 4 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Murilo Teles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro II FC's Kauan Madureira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Pedro II FC from getting a goal against them. When Joel Veloso came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the E.C. SERRASUL fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Veloso couldn't finish the play. Acácio Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benjamin Freitas hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute Murilo Teles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizinho Luz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute, Murilo Teles left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pedro II FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. If Joel Veloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Acácio Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Freire charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zé Freire the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Zé Freire hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Reginaldo Mazza in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luizinho Luz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in E.C. SERRASUL's zone, Reginaldo Mazza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luizinho Luz came out of the goal and Reginaldo Mazza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Joel Veloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Kauan Madureira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kauan Madureira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Veloso in the 61st minute of the match. Reginaldo Mazza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Luizinho Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edmílson Coutinho, 70 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The audience was convinced that Murilo Teles's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luizinho Luz was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. 92 minutes into the match, E.C. SERRASUL's Joel Veloso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kauan Madureira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kauan Madureira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Acácio Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 94th minute Acácio Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kauan Madureira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The E.C. SERRASUL supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Pedro II FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Pedro II FC.
