Kauan Madureira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Roberto Vieira in the 10th minute of play forced Pedro II FC's goalkeeper Kauan Madureira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Augusto Mesquita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murilo Teles in the 20th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Pedro II FC's zone, Zé Roberto Vieira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kauan Madureira came out of the goal and Zé Roberto Vieira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Reginaldo Mazza came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Pedro II FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reginaldo Mazza couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Pedro II FC's zone, Luan Proença stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kauan Madureira came out of the goal and Luan Proença tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro II FC's Kauan Madureira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luan Proença in the 39th minute of play. The supporters of Pedro II FC booed when Araioses AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvério das Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Pedro II FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Reginaldo Mazza hit a great ball. Reginaldo Mazza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Augusto Mesquita having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Murilo Teles was the one to do the kick off. Reginaldo Mazza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 55 minutes into the match, Reginaldo Mazza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zé Augusto Mesquita. Araioses AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reginaldo Mazza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 3-0 became the score in the 61st minute when Murilo Teles elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 65th minute, Araioses AD's Luan Proença ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kauan Madureira. Kauan Madureira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. In the 71st minute, Reginaldo Mazza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zé Augusto Mesquita was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. 80 minutes into the match, Araioses AD's Zé Roberto Vieira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kauan Madureira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Murilo Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Augusto Mesquita having to interfere. Araioses AD's Zé Roberto Vieira got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 89th match minute, Pedro II FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Freire to maneuver through the defense. Zé Roberto Vieira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kauan Madureira having to interfere. A collision led to Pedro II FC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Gildo Marques hit a great ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Pedro II FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Araioses AD had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
