Spectators: 7248 (Terracing: 5437, Seating: 1667, VIP seats: 144) Marsal's Marcus Domingues started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Marsal's goal looked a bit too open when Acácio Castro came free, but Robinho Bezerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kiko Tinoco kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Marcus Domingues scored 1-0 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luizinho Luz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marcus Domingues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizinho Luz having to interfere. Robinho Bezerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Acácio Castro in the 19th minute of play. With his leg Luizinho Luz managed to avoid a goal in the 22ndth minute, when Marsal's Zé Paulo Brodel fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Robinho Bezerra came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by E.C. SERRASUL's Joel Veloso. But to his dismay, Joel Veloso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After 35 minutes, Fellipe Monteiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Marsal and the E.C. SERRASUL players grew even worse after the yellow card. After taking down the ball on E.C. SERRASUL's corner Fernandinho Bertassi fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Robinho Bezerra quite easily take care of the ball. Joel Veloso scored 1-2 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Robinho Bezerra, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Marsal players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. E.C. SERRASUL were winning 1-2.

The wind increased when Acácio Castro made the kick off in the second half. Acácio Castro struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Robinho Bezerra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for E.C. SERRASUL. The supporters of E.C. SERRASUL booed when Marsal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kiko Tinoco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute, E.C. SERRASUL's Geraldo Domingues ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Robinho Bezerra. Robinho Bezerra yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. If Marcus Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Geraldo Domingues kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. With a little luck, Marsal's Robinho Bezerra got control of the ball when Joel Veloso tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 81 minutes, Geraldo Domingues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. E.C. SERRASUL's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geraldo Domingues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Acácio Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joel Veloso's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 87thth minute, Robinho Bezerra skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A very good chance. 92 minutes into the match, Marsal's goalkeeper Robinho Bezerra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joel Veloso. The E.C. SERRASUL supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing E.C. SERRASUL would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
