In a very dangerous position, a player in Correntina fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 7th minute. Penalty! Riograndense FC's Pedro Luís Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Téo Abraão in the 13th minute of play. Luiz Gustavo Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Pedro Luís Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Luís Magalhães made an important save on a dangerous shot by Téo Abraão in the 17th minute. Correntina's Dedê de Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hortêncio Eger in the 19th minute of play. Dinei Sena hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Hortêncio Eger struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Dedê de Salles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Riograndense FC. Hortêncio Eger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Dedê de Salles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hortêncio Eger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Agnaldo Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Hortêncio Eger came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Riograndense FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hortêncio Eger couldn't finish the play. Agnaldo Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vivaldo Nogueira kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. If Hortêncio Eger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Riograndense FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 52nd minute, Riograndense FC's Agnaldo Hermes dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. Correntina's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Agnaldo Hermes 60 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-4. After 64 played minutes Riograndense FC got a freekick which was hit by Agnaldo Hermes. Pedro Luís Magalhães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Gustavo Simões in the 73rd minute of the match. Agnaldo Hermes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dedê de Salles having to interfere. When Hortêncio Eger came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Riograndense FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hortêncio Eger couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Agnaldo Hermes in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dedê de Salles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With his leg Dedê de Salles managed to avoid a goal in the 91stth minute, when Riograndense FC's Hortêncio Eger fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Agnaldo Hermes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dedê de Salles having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Correntina's Pedrão Guedes got a free kick in the 94th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Riograndense FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
