Armandinho Custódio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulão Favoretto having to interfere. Matheus Prado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paulão Favoretto having to make a save. Armandinho Custódio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Paulão Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 40 played minutes, DIABLOS RS F.C.'s Doriva Custódio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lúcio Teles came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in DIABLOS RS F.C. reached it. Matheus Prado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulão Favoretto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Lúcio Teles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roger Aguiar in the 45th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Goias EC's zone, Clóvis Peres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lúcio Teles came out of the goal and Clóvis Peres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

56 minutes into the match, Goias EC's goalkeeper Lúcio Teles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cícero Dracena. The Goias EC fans' excitement grew in the 65th match minute when Goias EC's Matheus Prado looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
