Gilson Vieira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Murillo Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Murillo Barreto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilson Vieira, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Gugu Mendonças short, quick shot in the 21stth minute got Murillo Barreto to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Valdir Terra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filipe Vidal in the 23rd minute of play. Pindamonhangaba SP's Cléber Ramalho got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valdir Terra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filipe Vidal in the 31st minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Gugu Mendonça got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Cléber Ramalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cléber Ramalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Terra having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, Arraias's goal looked a bit too open when Filipe Vidal came free, but Valdir Terra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 44 minutes, Paulo Batista mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Arraias and the Pindamonhangaba SP players grew even worse after the yellow card. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gilson Vieira to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Filipe Vidal fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Cléber Ramalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Cléber Ramalho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pindamonhangaba SP's supporters rose to their feet, but Cléber Ramalho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdir Terra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 56 minutes into the game, Marcelinho Soares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arraias's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pindamonhangaba SP the free kick. The supporters of Pindamonhangaba SP booed when Arraias was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelinho Soares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Filipe Vidal struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Valdir Terra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pindamonhangaba SP. With a little luck, Arraias's Valdir Terra got control of the ball when Cléber Ramalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Pindamonhangaba SP fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Murillo Barreto should have stopped the shot. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marco Meireles charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marco Meireles the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 82nd minute, one of Pindamonhangaba SP:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pindamonhangaba SP. A collision led to Pindamonhangaba SP getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. José Carlos Moura hit a great ball. If Gilson Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When José Carlos Moura fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pindamonhangaba SP's protests and gave José Carlos Moura a yellow card for diving instead. José Carlos Moura hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match.
