Rodrigo Tande fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murilo de Almeida having to interfere. André Luiz Maciel might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over César Varela. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. André Luiz Maciel ran back to his position shaking his head. César Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cesinha Mota in the 11th minute of the match. Betão de Sena struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Murilo de Almeida didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Xablau Loverboy. 13 minutes into the game, Fabinho Lopes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Taiacupeba EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Xablau Loverboy the free kick. Fabinho Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. César Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesinha Mota in the 17th minute of play. André Luiz Maciel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. César Varela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Xablau Loverboy getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. André Luiz Britto hit a great ball. In the 23rd match minute, Xablau Loverboy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodrigo Tande to maneuver through the defense. Murilo de Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betão de Sena in the 25th minute of play. Rodrigo Tande could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Murilo de Almeida made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ronaldinho Porto during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ronaldinho Porto kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Rodrigo Tandes short, quick shot in the 29thth minute got Murilo de Almeida to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After having played for 33 minutes, Betão de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Xablau Loverboy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Betão de Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cipriano Branco charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cipriano Branco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Taiacupeba EC booed when Xablau Loverboy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cipriano Branco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute Cesinha Mota shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but César Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cesinha Mota in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck César Varela prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Cesinha Mota managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taiacupeba EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cesinha Mota was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. César Varela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 46th minute of the match Maurinho Pena shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but César Varela showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When Fabinho Lopes was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 61 minutes had been played. Fabinho Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Carlinhos Pombal kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Vânderson Veiga sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Taiacupeba EC's Murilo de Almeida didn't even have to move. In the 67th minute Betão de Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murilo de Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th minute, Betão de Sena left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Xablau Loverboy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Carlinhos Pombal charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlinhos Pombal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 72 played minutes Taiacupeba EC got a freekick which was hit by Carlinhos Pombal. Rodrigo Tande's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Murilo de Almeida read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Murilo de Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betão de Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cesinha Mota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. César Varela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Betão de Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Taiacupeba EC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 96th minute. Penalty! In the 98th minute there was a penalty for Xablau Loverboy. Vânderson Veiga stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Murilo de Almeida. 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Xablau Loverboy had won after a very even match.
