The crowd rose to their feet as Cafu Paes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ronaldo Cardozo. That made the score 2-0 in the 8 minute of play. Nestor Lopez's late challenge caught a Unidos do Morro FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nestor Lopez helped the player get up and apologised. In the 17th minute, Nestor Lopez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in CFC's zone, Cafu Paes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronaldo Cardozo came out of the goal and Cafu Paes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ronaldo Cardozo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cafu Paes's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. After 23 played minutes CFC got a freekick which was hit by Dito da Silveira. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davi Rosa in the 23rd minute of play forced CFC's goalkeeper Ronaldo Cardozo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgardo Lekubegi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Cafu Paes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronaldo Cardozo was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Renato Gerber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldo Cardozo having to interfere. Mauro Mendes's late challenge caught a CFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alberto Alcântara made a kick off. In the 59thth minute of the game Kuzey Tanpınar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CFC's Ronaldo Cardozo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Cafu Paes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronaldo Cardozo was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. In the 66thth minute of the game Cafu Paes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CFC's Ronaldo Cardozo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 67 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Cafu Paes sped through CFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ronaldo Cardozo. The supporters of Unidos do Morro FC booed when CFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emerson Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in CFC's zone, Davi Rosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronaldo Cardozo came out of the goal and Davi Rosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th minute, Cafu Paes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ronaldo Cardozo was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. The audience was convinced that Cafu Paes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronaldo Cardozo was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Flávio Nunes hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. CFC's Ronaldo Cardozo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renato Gerber in the 88th minute of play. Eurico Zonta kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. When Unidos do Morro FC's Cafu Paes in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye CFC's goalie prevented a goal. 95 minutes into the match, Manfredo Costa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgardo Lekubegi. Unidos do Morro FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Manfredo Costa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Unidos do Morro FC fully deserved thier win.
