Oséas Camargo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristóvão Pimenta went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 13th match minute, Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wellington Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. Diego Breckenfeld took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mazinho de Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 25 played minutes Palermo got a freekick which was hit by Tiaguinho de Queirós. Diego Breckenfeld showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mazinho de Alcântara in the 33rd minute of the match. The attack was good, but when Cristóvão Pimenta in the 34th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After 38 minutes, Leandro Carioca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Era and the Palermo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 39th minute of the match Jacinto Campidelis shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Oséas Camargo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 46th minute Mazinho de Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Breckenfeld saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marquinhos Alagoano in the 47th minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Diego Breckenfeld to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Rômulo de Souza made the kick off in the second half. Cristóvão Pimenta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Oséas Camargo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oséas Camargo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristóvão Pimenta, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 64th minute Mazinho de Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Breckenfeld saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wellington Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Palermo's zone, Cauã Sena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Breckenfeld came out of the goal and Cauã Sena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wellington Mendonça's late challenge caught a Era's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wellington Mendonça helped the player get up and apologised. Wellington Mendonça hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Diego Breckenfeld made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Jeferson Paranaense sent off a good shot on target. José Augusto Netto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Oséas Camargo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cristóvão Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Era's goalkeeper Oséas Camargo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Diego Breckenfeld was a little too slow when Mazinho de Alcântara got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 2-3.
