Queimasangue's André Velasco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Castro in the 13th minute of play. Olindina FC's Evandro Paulista proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Olindina FC from getting a goal against them. André Velasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrique França in the 24th minute of play. The supporters of Olindina FC booed when Queimasangue was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benê Schmidt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Henrique França's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but André Velasco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when João Augusto Miranda got free with Evandro Paulista in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 30 minutes into the game, Henrique França cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. André Velasco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Henrique França recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Evandro Paulista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmílson de Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Henrique França stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alex Castro in the 55thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of André Velasco, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benê Schmidt in the 57th minute of play forced Olindina FC's goalkeeper Evandro Paulista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evandro Paulista stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmílson de Salles's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. André Velasco was a little too slow when Henrique França got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 0-2. After 81 minutes, Aílton Sousa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Queimasangue and the Olindina FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. André Velasco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrique França in the 96th minute of the match.
