Legionários FC's Váldson Paraíba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Paiva in the 68th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 72 minutes into the game, when Ernani Falcão put in a rough tackle. Jefferson de Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Sena having to interfere. In the 80th match minute, Friburguense AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelinho Alves to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jefferson de Senna in the 89th minute of play forced Friburguense AC's goalkeeper Waldir Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Legionários FC.
