Acácio Hoffmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Júlio Ceresso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dida Vander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 14 minutes into the match, Macarani's goal looked a bit too open when Acácio Hoffmann came free, but Júlio Ceresso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Célio Nogueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulysses Correia having to interfere. 18 minutes into the match, Gaucho's goal looked a bit too open when Célio Nogueira came free, but Ulysses Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dida Vander might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Júlio Ceresso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dida Vander ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 21st minute, Norberto Soares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Dida Vander came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Gaucho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dida Vander couldn't finish the play. 25 minutes into the game, Pedro Augusto Moreira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Júlio Ceresso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ulysses Correia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Célio Nogueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gaucho's Acácio Hoffmann got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Gaucho booed when Macarani was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guga Pitta didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Acácio Hoffmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dida Vander stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Célio Nogueira in the 55th minute of play forced Gaucho's goalkeeper Ulysses Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ulysses Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Célio Nogueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. If Célio Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Gaucho's zone, Gualter Rezende stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulysses Correia came out of the goal and Gualter Rezende tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Célio Nogueira in the 65th minute of play forced Gaucho's goalkeeper Ulysses Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th match minute, Gaucho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Augusto Moreira to maneuver through the defense. After 76 minutes of play, Macarani's Gualter Rezende made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ulysses Correia was left in no man's land by his defense there! Edvaldo Zonta hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Acácio Hoffmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
