César Amaral came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by MarkMinas FC's João Francisco Brodel. But to his dismay, João Francisco Brodel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 7 minutes into the game, Narciso Fontes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gremio's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MarkMinas FC the free kick. After 8 played minutes Gremio got a freekick which was hit by Narciso Fontes. César Amaral didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from João Francisco Brodel went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. João Francisco Brodel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Amaral having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as MarkMinas FC's Alex Ramalho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of César Amaral. That made the score 4-0 after 19 minutes of play. Cléber de Senna hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. If Alex Ramalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 30th minute, Jardel Borges hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, João Francisco Brodel managed to get in a good position for a shot. MarkMinas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but João Francisco Brodel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. César Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Alex Ramalho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but César Amaral was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. After some careless play in the Gremio defense, João Francisco Brodel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of César Amaral. The Gremio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that César Amaral should have stopped the shot. 39 minutes into the game, Marcos Vianna was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. João Francisco Brodel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. César Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gremio's César Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Ramalho in the 44th minute of play. César Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Ramalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alex Ramalho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without César Amaral having to make a save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tiago Catarinense to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 61st minute, João Francisco Brodel made a precise shot to the right of César Amaral. Gremio's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. After 65 minutes of play MarkMinas FC's Marcos Vianna was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Gremio's César Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Ramalho in the 73rd minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, Alex Ramalho notched a goal, 9-0, to the right of Gremio's César Amaral. César Amaral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Tiago Catarinense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Narciso Fontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Erasmo Tasso came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the MarkMinas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erasmo Tasso couldn't finish the play.
