Soberano F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge Velasco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Deivid de Salles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gualter Queirós made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Anderson Vargas sent off a good shot on target. Jorge Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Deivid de Salles having to interfere. Soberano F.C's Gualter Queirós proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Soberano F.C from getting a goal against them. Rafinha Barros was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 17 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute, one of Soberano F.C:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Soberano F.C. Frank Neiva hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 23rd minute Francisco Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gualter Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Soberano F.C's goalkeeper Gualter Queirós had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anderson Vargas. After 38 minutes of play, Bangu Atletic Club's Anderson Vargas made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gualter Queirós was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gualter Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Carioca, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. In the 48th minute Francisco Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gualter Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Francisco Carioca was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute Anderson Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gualter Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gualter Queirós came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Bangu Atletic Club's Francisco Carioca. But to his dismay, Francisco Carioca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Gualter Queirós stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Francisco Carioca's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Gualter Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anderson Vargas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Murilo Zonta hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Zé Carlos Abraão hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Gualter Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Carioca, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Gualter Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anderson Vargas in the 70th minute of play. 71 minutes into the game, Frank Neiva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Gualter Queirós was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 75th minute Anderson Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gualter Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Teodoro Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute, Francisco Carioca left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bangu Atletic Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. After a rather tough play, Bangu Atletic Club's Zé Carlos Abraão got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 88th minute, Inácio Sena fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Anderson Vargas scored 7-0 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gualter Queirós, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bangu Atletic Club's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
