But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Prestes couldn't finish the play. Gualter Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Prestes in the 27th minute of play. Soberano F.C's Jorge Velasco got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 59 minutes into the game, Capitao de Campos futboll's José Prestes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gualter Queirós made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3.
