Aílton Nóbrega received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Fábio de Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute Aílton Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fábio de Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Fábio Prata struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Carlos Fernando Porto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arapoti. When Luiz Guilherme Souto fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arapoti's protests and gave Luiz Guilherme Souto a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th minute, one of Arapoti:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Arapoti. In the 50th minute there was a penalty for Rafael Anderson Wagner FC. Raí Valladares stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Fábio de Azevedo. 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Fábio Prata stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fábio de Azevedo made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Wilton de Queirós sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aloísio de Souza during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Rafael Anderson Wagner FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Aloísio de Souza hit a great ball. Luiz Guilherme Souto made a great header on Arapoti's corner, it was just that Rafael Anderson Wagner FC's Carlos Fernando Porto managed to reach the ball for a save.
