After a defensive mix-up in Xavantes's zone, Guto de Amaral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victor Meira came out of the goal and Guto de Amaral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edvaldo Faria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delfim Lucas in the 37th minute of the match. Guto de Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Victor Meira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, José Carlos de Moraes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 44 minutes, Geraldo Mota mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Warnow FC and the Xavantes players grew even worse after the yellow card.

In the 55th minute of the match Xavantes got a corner. Warnow FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. José Carlos de Moraes ran over to the corner to take the kick. Xavantes's José Carlos de Moraes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Edvaldo Faria in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Warnow FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Durvalino Linhares kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Xavantes fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 66th minute. Penalty! When Joélson Vieira fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Bebeto Cerezo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Warnow FC's Sílvio Luís Domingues got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Victor Meira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovânio do Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute.
