Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Didi Pimenta started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 6 minutes into the match, Vila Nova's goal looked a bit too open when Emerson Corrêa came free, but Jean Coelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jean Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emerson Corrêa in the 12th minute of play. Emerson Corrêa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jean Coelho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Emerson Corrêa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean Coelho having to interfere. Jean Coelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emerson Corrêa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 23 minutes, Anísio Fernandez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vila Nova and the Flamengo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 23rd minute, Anísio Fernandez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emerson Corrêa in the 27th minute of play forced Vila Nova's goalkeeper Jean Coelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 28 minutes Vila Nova's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Emerson Corrêa who took care of the corner kick. Aloísio Salgado's late challenge caught a Flamengo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aloísio Salgado helped the player get up and apologised. In the 31st minute, Aloísio Salgado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Didi Pimenta hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. 0-1 became the score in the 35th minute when Emerson Corrêa elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Jorge Pena was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 39 minutes into the match. Dudu Corrêa took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jean Coelho. Jean Coelho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Ademir Gomes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ademir Gomes's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 54thth minute, Jean Coelho skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With his leg Jean Coelho managed to avoid a goal in the 55thth minute, when Flamengo's Ademir Gomes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Dudu Corrêa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean Coelho having to interfere. Jean Coelho made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Iuri Marques sent off a good shot on target. Jean Coelho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ademir Gomes went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Dudu Corrêa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Jean Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ademir Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Vila Nova's zone, Dudu Corrêa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean Coelho came out of the goal and Dudu Corrêa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 71st minute, Ademir Gomes made a precise shot to the right of Jean Coelho. Vila Nova's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Aloísio Salgado was shown his second yellow card after 78 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Flamengo made a substitution. Kauã Dante replaced Ademir Gomes. 82 minutes into the game, one of Vila Nova:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Kauã Dante's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jean Coelho firmly grabbed it by the left post.
