Kiko Tinoco didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Valdemar Santana came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Lascadinha FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdemar Santana couldn't finish the play. If Fabinho Trevisan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcel Furlan to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valdemar Santana in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gildo Saraiva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 58th minute Clemente Mangueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gildo Saraiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcel Furlan might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mário Custódio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcel Furlan ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Lascadinha FC's Romário Fontes got a free kick in the 70th minute. Mário Custódio was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Marcel Furlan showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 77 minute of play. 84 minutes into the game, Donato Abreu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ajax's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lascadinha FC the free kick. In the 88th minute, Valdemar Santana made a precise shot to the right of Gildo Saraiva. Ajax's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1.
