With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luiz Amaral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 19th minute, Luís Abreu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luiz Amaral was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 22nd minute, one of Universidad dos Raios:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Universidad dos Raios. In the 24th minute there was a penalty for Igreja Batista Adonai. Dedé Correia stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Elivélton Alagoano. 1-1. The supporters of Igreja Batista Adonai booed when Universidad dos Raios was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Pedro Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Igreja Batista Adonai's zone, Jano da Rocha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Amaral came out of the goal and Jano da Rocha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luiz Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. A collision led to Igreja Batista Adonai getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Dedé Correia hit a great ball. After 38 played minutes, Universidad dos Raios's Zé Pedro Miranda shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luiz Amaral came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Universidad dos Raios reached it. In the 38th minute Jerônimo Meireles suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. A collision led to Igreja Batista Adonai getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Hélio Seco hit a great ball. When Jano da Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Universidad dos Raios fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jano da Rocha couldn't finish the play. In the 44th minute Luís Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patrick Soeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jano da Rocha to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Vicente Paes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Vicente Paes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Igreja Batista Adonai's supporters rose to their feet, but Vicente Paes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elivélton Alagoano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Igreja Batista Adonai's Vicente Paes got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Patrick Soeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th minute, Vicente Paes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Igreja Batista Adonai fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Luís Abreu hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vicente Paes in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elivélton Alagoano saved Universidad dos Raios from getting behind. When Abel Ramalho fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Universidad dos Raios's protests and gave Abel Ramalho a yellow card for diving instead. Jano da Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Amaral having to interfere. Universidad dos Raios's Celsinho Gonçalves got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mauro Vander kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Igreja Batista Adonai had won after a very even match.
