But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Naldo Miranda couldn't finish the play. Téo Travassos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus Cerezo having to interfere. Luís Paulo Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erik de Alcântara in the 45th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Erik de Alcântara was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Téo Travassos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 56 minutes into the game, Didi Penha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Lhoraca's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Lhoraca's Naldo Miranda got a free kick in the 83rd minute.
