In the 18th minute, Diguinho Valadares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lhoraca fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Clóvis Almeida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Ihla grande booed when Lhoraca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Naldo Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Téo Travassos might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cafu Neiva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Téo Travassos ran back to his position shaking his head. 36 minutes into the match, Téo Travassos notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Ihla grande's Cafu Neiva. Cafu Neiva was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Téo Travassos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Durvalino Ramalho's late challenge caught a Lhoraca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Durvalino Ramalho helped the player get up and apologised. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diamantino Vergílio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Ihla grande's goalkeeper Cafu Neiva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Téo Travassos. 56 minutes into the game, Téo Travassos lined in a short shot 0-3 behind a frustrated Cafu Neiva. With a little luck, Ihla grande's Cafu Neiva got control of the ball when Ademir Bertassi tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 81st minute, Naldo Miranda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luís Paulo Ferreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clóvis Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Lhoraca's Luís Paulo Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clóvis Almeida in the 87th minute of play. After having played for 90 minutes, Téo Travassos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lhoraca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Téo Travassos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match was over Lhoraca could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ihla grande throughout the match.
