Guarapuava EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coqueiros the free kick. 6 minutes into the game, one of Guarapuava EC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Coqueiros a penalty, 8 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rodrigo Cardoso, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Guarapuava EC's Cristian Arruda. 1-0. Giuseppe Braga came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Guarapuava EC's Clemente Teles. But to his dismay, Clemente Teles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, João Vítor Urbano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guarapuava EC's supporters rose to their feet, but João Vítor Urbano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giuseppe Braga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 17th match minute, Guarapuava EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco França to maneuver through the defense. Ricardinho Xavier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giuseppe Braga having to interfere. In the 27th minute Márcio Veloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Arruda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dráusio Veiga's late challenge caught a Coqueiros's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dráusio Veiga helped the player get up and apologised. In the 32nd minute, one of Guarapuava EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Guarapuava EC. Ricardinho Xavier blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Giuseppe Braga having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clemente Teles in the 46th minute of play forced Coqueiros's goalkeeper Giuseppe Braga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 48 minutes into the game, Clemente Teles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Giuseppe Braga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Clemente Teles made the kick off in the second half. Ricardinho Xavier's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Giuseppe Braga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristiano de Barros during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 58th minute, Cristiano de Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Vítor Urbano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Giuseppe Braga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, Coqueiros's goalkeeper Giuseppe Braga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Clemente Teles. When Donato Andrade came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Guarapuava EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donato Andrade couldn't finish the play. When Clemente Teles got free in front of the goal in the 68th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Giuseppe Braga was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Ricardinho Xavier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hortêncio Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. João Vítor Urbano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Giuseppe Braga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If João Vítor Urbano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Arruda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silas Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rd minute, Silas Carvalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Clemente Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Guarapuava EC played a much better game than Coqueiros and deserved their victory. The Coqueiros players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
