Spectators: 7203 (Terracing: 5404, Seating: 1656, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rogério Lopez started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Palmeiras's Cássio Paraibano got a free kick in the 5th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Naldo Cosme in the 6th minute of play forced Palmeiras's goalkeeper Cafu Ribeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute, Rogério Lopez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 20 minutes of play, Atlético Das Teclas FC's Naldo Cosme made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cafu Ribeiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 24th minute, Rogério Lopez fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Claudinho Torres, passed just outside the right post. After having played for 28 minutes, Romário Tasso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Das Teclas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romário Tasso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Palmeiras's Cafu Ribeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naldo Cosme in the 33rd minute of play. 36 minutes into the game, Romário Tasso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Cafu Ribeiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Betinho Valladares kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Egídio Tróia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Das Teclas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Egídio Tróia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cafu Ribeiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cafu Ribeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Naldo Cosme in the 47th minute of play.

In the 52nd minute Romário Tasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cafu Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cafu Ribeiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Faustão Melo went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Danilo Vergílio in the 60thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cafu Ribeiro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Rogério Lopez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Torres having to interfere. If Rogério Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rogério Lopez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Danilo Vergílio got free with Cafu Ribeiro in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 92nd minute, Faustão Melo made a precise shot to the right of Cafu Ribeiro.
