The throw-in from Cássio Paraibano in the 5th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Guartela EC's Ezequiel Duarte. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maicon Maciel during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 7th match minute, Guartela EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maicon Maciel to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute Gualter Veloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cafu Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gualter Veloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cafu Ribeiro having to interfere. The Guartela EC fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Guartela EC's Gualter Veloso looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gualter Veloso in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cafu Ribeiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Palmeiras getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Rogério Lopez hit a great ball. 36 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolas da Fonseca came free, but Cafu Ribeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guartela EC's Maicon Maciel got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Palmeiras's zone, Germano Linhares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cafu Ribeiro came out of the goal and Germano Linhares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 44 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Gualter Veloso sped through Palmeiras's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cafu Ribeiro. After 48 minutes, Gualter Veloso made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Palmeiras's Cafu Ribeiro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gualter Veloso was the one to do the kick off. Gualter Veloso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cafu Ribeiro having to make a save. Cafu Ribeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maicon Maciel in the 66th minute of the match. Palmeiras's Raúl Moraes quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ezequiel Duarte, made in the 69th minute of the game. Cafu Ribeiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gualter Veloso went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Palmeiras defense, Leopoldo Teixeira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cafu Ribeiro. The Palmeiras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cafu Ribeiro should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gualter Veloso in the 99th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cafu Ribeiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Guartela EC had won after a very even match.
