After a defensive mix-up in Roca's zone, Gualter Veloso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giovani Toscano came out of the goal and Gualter Veloso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leopoldo Teixeira got free with Giovani Toscano in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gualter Veloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovani Toscano having to interfere. Giovani Toscano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maicon Maciel, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. The audience was convinced that Gualter Veloso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Giovani Toscano was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Roca's Valdomiro Tande got a free kick in the 24th minute. When Gualter Veloso came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Guartela EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gualter Veloso couldn't finish the play. Guartela EC's Gualter Veloso was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 36th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Giovani Toscano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gualter Veloso's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Gualter Veloso scored 3-0 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Giovani Toscano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Giovani Toscano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gualter Veloso in the 46th minute. Hudson Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovani Toscano having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Giovani Toscano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Teixeira in the 52nd minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Guartela EC's Gualter Veloso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Giovani Toscano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gualter Veloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Giovani Toscano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gualter Veloso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 68 minutes into the game, Aloísio Vergílio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Roca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guartela EC the free kick. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Gualter Veloso put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Giovani Toscano. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Gualter Veloso put it in 7-0 from a short distance just to the right of Giovani Toscano. There was no doubt that Guartela EC were the better team. Guartela EC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
