Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Pedrão Ferreira started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After 3 minutes, Jeremias Couto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SANTOS FC and the Evarista players grew even worse after the yellow card. Maicon Batista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christiano Nogueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. After 6 played minutes SANTOS FC got a freekick which was hit by Jeremias Couto. After 8 played minutes SANTOS FC got a freekick which was hit by Pedrão Ferreira. A hard shot 10 in the game by José Pedro Linares from a close distance when the talented Maicon Batista managed to make a qualified save. SANTOS FC's players were relieved. When Sandro Bastos came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Evarista fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sandro Bastos couldn't finish the play. After 13 played minutes SANTOS FC got a freekick which was hit by Pedrão Ferreira. If Christiano Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilton Simões hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Nelson Chaves, 30 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. SANTOS FC's Maicon Batista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christiano Nogueira in the 35th minute of play. Maicon Batista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christiano Nogueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedrão Ferreira kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. José Pedro Linares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maicon Batista having to interfere. Evarista's Christiano Nogueira got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Christiano Nogueira made the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, José Pedro Linares put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Maicon Batista. After a rather tough play, Evarista's Adrianinho Luz got a free kick in the 65th minute. Evarista's Genílson Pimenta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Evarista from getting a goal against them. Ramón do Vale got in the 70th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Genílson Pimenta handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Maicon Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Pedro Linares in the 73rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Pedro Linares in the 77th minute of play forced SANTOS FC's goalkeeper Maicon Batista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christiano Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 83 minutes into the match, Evarista's goalkeeper Genílson Pimenta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ramón do Vale. José Pedro Linares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 89 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SANTOS FC! The referee gave Evarista a penalty, 91 minutes into the game. Maicon Batista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Evarista had played much better football throughout.
