Reinaldo Freitas came out of the goal and Pedrão Ferreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Ebbsfleet F.C. getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Mané Lago hit a great ball. Ulysses Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Uriel Eneas hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. If Uriel Eneas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ebbsfleet F.C.'s Angelino Elizardo got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Benjamim Figueiredo fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ebbsfleet F.C.'s protests and gave Benjamim Figueiredo a yellow card for diving instead. 46 minutes into the game, Pedrão Ferreira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Reinaldo Freitas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ulysses Barros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Ramón do Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot. SANTOS FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramón do Vale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reinaldo Freitas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 62nd match minute, Ebbsfleet F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulysses Barros to maneuver through the defense. Bernardinho Silveira succeeded in the game's 62nd minute to get real power on a long shot . Ebbsfleet F.C.'s Reinaldo Freitas hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 0-2! Ulysses Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maicon Batista having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, Ulysses Barros had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maicon Batista. SANTOS FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ulysses Barros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Ebbsfleet F.C. were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
